Like the photo shows, there's some good facts in here but there are some really obvious mistakes. Wellbutrin is buproprion not buspar, which is buspirone. They're close in name but anyone with a psych background would notice the incorrect stuff easily.I do think it's helpful for quick study but watch out for stuff like this.

Just passed my ANCC Boards👍👍👍. This book was critical in helping me to pass. It allowed me to target focal areas pertaining to the ANCC exam. I read it over and over and memorized core concepts. Sitting to take the exam was a breeze. In hindsight I should have epent even more time using this book than other recommended study guides. I spent 1.2 months memorizing this book. I plan to keep it among my library of resources while I transition into my new role. If I had to sum it up in one word; it would be “amazing.”

I like how she lays out facts that are short and concise. She has some explanation but short and straight to the point. Principles are well organized with some duplication of information. Overall very helpful for review.

Sorry for the poor review, but if you don't even know your basic psych drugs classes, you have no business selling a book on how to pass the boards.

I just started reading it. I think it is okay. I plan to read through the whole book and see what I can learn from it.

The book arrived to me damaged but I taped up the pages and it is relatively ok for the price. Helpful tips and facts that are perfect for quick reference. I recommend this book for regular practice reference and for psych specific references when seeing patients.

This book is all over the place! The information is not organized logically to help with studying for the PMHNP certification exam. This book would have been a useful study guide if the author would had organized the information according to the domains similar to the ANCC exam. This book is just a bunch of notes randomly listed.

Lots of great facts as a quick reference, but it's very redundant and I found a few discrepancies. Maybe I'm nit picking but I thought I would point them out.
In chapter 1, Question 66 the definition of non-maleficence is "do no harm" and not "maintenance of loyalty" that would be Fidelity.
Question 94. It takes 2-4 weeks for Buspirone to reach therapeutic effects. (Stahl, 6th edition)
Question 96: It's really 4-6 weeks for SSRIs to reach full therapeutic effect, in fact APEA states it is actually 12 weeks.
Chapter 2: question 10: Lithium is not an anticonvulsant, it is classified as a mood stabilizer.
Question 41: Dysthymia is 2 years of symptoms for adults and 1 in children.

I honestly did not finish the book. So I cannot give it much credit towards passing my ANCC PMHNP exam.
